AUSTRIAN EMPIRE
Rare commemorative cross of Archduke Charles, known as the ‘Stockbach Cross’
Made of gold, in the shape of a cross pattée. On the obverse,
the arms are enamelled yellow and inscribed ‘HEIL DEM RET
TER’. Centre enamelled black with the letter ‘C’ within a laurel wreath
. On the reverse, enamelled white with gold lettering ‘GER-MA
NI-ENS’. Centre bearing the date 1799 on a red enamelled background.
Minor wear. 25 x 23 mm. Gross weight: 2.82 g.
In very good condition. Circa 1800.
