SMALL CHAMBERLain’S BOW, BELONGING TO FRANÇOIS ANTOINE PHILIPPE HENRI ZORN DE BULACH, CHAMBERLain TO EMPEROR NAPOLEON III. In gold braid and blue bands. Tassels in braid and gold fringes. A.B.E. Second Empire period. Biography: François Zorn de Bulach (1828–1890), son of Ernest, Chamberlain to Emperor Napoleon III (1857) and Member of Parliament. He sided with the Germans after the defeat of 1870, and subsequently championed the cause of autonomy for Alsace.
