THE ZORN FAMILY OF BULACH: -Hessian officer’s collar. In scarlet cloth with a button bearing the coat of arms
of Hesse, a border braid with a diamond pattern and a buttonhole
trimmed with scarlet braid in silver-coloured trimmings. -Two lapels,
two pockets, and a collar from a black cloth uniform edged with
two braids (one of which is wavy) in gold passementerie. -Waist sash from a general officer’s uniform in thread and
gilded silver braid. On national blue cloth. Heavy
wear. -Two leather breastplates, with two pockets. -Nightcap
or indoor cap in embroidered brown velvet. Lined in
silk. -Large waist bow from the uniform of a chamberlain to
Emperor Napoleon in scarlet cloth with gold thread. -Belt.
Length: 91 cm.
Biography: The chamberlain’s waist sash belonged to François Zorn de
Bulach (1828–1890), chamberlain to Emperor Napoleon III (1857) and Member of Parliament.
