HISTORICAL SOUVENIR PRESENTED TO THE DUKE OF
DANTZIG (1755–1820) DURING THE RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN
OF 1812 BY LIEUTENANT DE REZÉ
Circular lorgnette, interior lined with red leather
decorated with a floral motif, signed ‘Dollond London’, preserved
in its original case, inside which there is a
handwritten note bearing the inscription: “Binoculars given
by Mr de Rezé, an officer, to Commander Lefebvre – These binoculars
were worn by Mr de Rezé during the Russian Campaign. ”
English work from the early 19th century.
