SPANISH UNIFORM THAT BELONGED
TO PRINCE ALFONSO DE BRAGANCE, DUKE OF
PORTO.
Comprising: - a full dress overcoat of a lieutenant
colonel, in blue cloth with brandebourgs, epaulettes and braids
in black passementerie. The front panel and facings edged
with astrakhan. Facing adorned with two eight-pointed stars
in gold braid, edged with two gold braids. Collar
fastening with hooks. Mark of the Royal House tailor
in Madrid, Alberto Ranz – a pair of blue cloth breeches with a double
green stripe. Buttons from the Alberto Ranz House. Name label
from the Ranz House marked in pen ‘SAR Duque
de Oporto Junio 1907’
Good condition. Spanish work, circa 1907.
Reference: This may be the uniform of the honorary lieutenant-colonel of the
‘Cazadores’ (hunters) of Madrid, a title conferred upon him in June 1907 by the
