OF THE LATE 18TH CENTURY.
King Victor Amadeus III of Sardinia (1726–1796) and his
wife, the Infanta Marie Antoinette of Spain (1729–1785).
A pair of round hanging medallions, depicting
the profiles of the king and his wife, carved in wax, mounted on
a slate background, bearing the date 1773, preserved under
glass in their original carved and gilded wooden frame
decorated with a frieze of ribboned laurel leaves.
Signs of wear, damage to the frame, restoration.
