TABLEWARE SET OF
GRAND DUKE MICHEL PAVLOVITCH (1798–1849).
By Naudin, Paris, 1819–1838.
Comprising 12 forks and 12 soup spoons, in
vermeil, of the so-called ‘filet’ style, decorated within an
oval cartouche with the Grand Duke’s interlaced monogram in
MP (Michel Pavlovitch) surmounted by the imperial crown
on an amati background, decorated with palmettes, small flowers and
vine leaves. Signs of age, but in good overall condition.
Hallmark: Head of Michelangelo facing right (1819–1838).
Silversmith’s mark: François-Dominique Naudin (active from
1800 to 1840).
Hallmark: Head of Ceres (full hallmark).
Length: 20.5 cm and 21 cm.
Total weight: 2,050 g.
