TABLEWARE SET OF
GRAND DUKE MICHEL PAVLOVITCH (1798–1849).
By Naudin, Paris, 1819–1838.
Comprising 7 forks and 7 soup spoons, in
vermeil, of the so-called ‘filet’ style, adorned within an oval cartouche
with the Grand Duke’s interlaced monogram in
Cyrillic letters MP (Michel Pavlovitch) surmounted by the
imperial crown on an amati background, decorated with palmettes, small flowers and
vine leaves. Signs of age, but in good overall condition.
Hallmark: Head of Michelangelo facing right (1819–1838).
Silversmith’s mark: François-Dominique Naudin (active from
1800 to 1840).
Hallmark: Head of Ceres (full hallmark).
Length: 20.5 cm and 21 cm.
Total weight: 1 kg 190 g.
