Description
VERMEIL SUGAR BOWL.
By the 11th Artel, Moscow, 1908–1917.
Square in shape and flaring towards the top, decorated with a rosette
surrounded by leafy arabesques in polychrome cloisonné enamels
on a gold amati background, framed by a geometric band
alternating small flowers on a sky-blue
and brown, with a vermeil interior. The handle is also adorned
with cloisonné polychrome enamel motifs on a background of
sky-blue and brown enamel. Art Nouveau-inspired work.
Slight signs of age, but in good overall condition.
Hallmark: 84, Moscow, 1908–1917.
Silversmith’s hallmarks: 11th Moscow Artel.
