HOLY VIRGIN OF IVERSKAYA.
By SAVINKOFF, Moscow, 1892.
Tempera on wood, housed in a silver and vermeil riza
with finely chiselled and repoussé decoration, adorned with a halo and
elements in cloisonné polychrome enamel, with an identification
plate affixed to the lower section in
blue-enamelled Cyrillic letters. The icon is presented in its original
wooden kiot. Signs of age, but in good overall condition.
Hallmark: 84, Moscow, 1892.
Master Assayer’s mark: Rodolphe Voorst, active from 1891 to 1894.
Goldsmith’s mark: Victor Savinkoff, active from 1890 to 1917.
