A Mamluk sabre from the Imperial Guard, converted into a dagger. Wooden hilt covered in black-coated canvas with simple brass filigree. Cut brass pommel with a strap loop. Crossguard with two diamond-shaped lugs, two quillons ending in pommel knobs. Curved blade, probably of the original design, re-riveted, unmarked and re-cut with a pronounced back edge. Width at the heel: 3 cm. Blade length: 29.3 cm. Guard width: 13.7 cm. Guard height: 16.4 cm. A.B.E. First Empire period, subsequently modified.
