Description
Sardinian officer’s sabre. Ebony hilt, fluted. Brass fittings, single-bar guard and small crossguard. Curved blade with a rounded back and hollow edges, traces of bluing and gilding on the upper third, engraved with ‘Vive le roi’ and the coat of arms of Savoy. Scabbard made of blued sheet iron with three brass fittings and two bands. Length: 99 cm. ABE (oxidation), partly modern composite construction with a blade dating from the early 19th century.
