Chassepot bayonet, Model 1866. Bronze hilt, iron crossguard. Yatagan blade with traces of the marking ‘Stehelin Bitschwiller thann … 1869’. Sheath made of sheet iron bearing the guard’s serial number (U55 376); on the reverse, the guard and the sheath bear two further serial numbers (T187 and U162). Length: 69.5 cm. ABE.
