Major-General’s sabre. Horn hilt with double filigree brass mountings, four-pronged guard decorated with laurel leaves, plate adorned with three silver stars. Pommel monogrammed ‘EZ’, slender blade with a flat back and hollow edges. Sheath made of sheet iron with a single ferrule and a ring. Length: 102 cm. ABE. Circa 1900. Several generals may correspond to this monogram: Generals Zimmer, Zoegger and Zurlinden.
