Brigadier-General’s sabre, Model 1896. Horn hilt with filigree, chiselled brass mountings. Symmetrical shell-shaped guard decorated with laurel and acanthus leaves, adorned with a Medusa’s head and two silver stars, hallmarked by Lafleur in Paris. Pommel monogrammed ‘AM’; straight blade with the back engraved ‘Coulaux & Cie Klingenthal France’. Iron sheet scabbard with a single strap. Lyre-shaped pommel. Length: 106 cm. ABE.
