Officer’s sabre, general officer’s type.
Horn hilt with filigree. Copper-plated brass fittings, four-pronged crossguard decorated with laurel leaves, guard plate adorned with three silver stars denoting the rank of Major-General (later addition). Pommel monogrammed ‘SL’. Lenticular blade, type 1882, signed ‘de Couleaux’ in Klingenthal. Iron sheet scabbard with a single strap.
