A Large antique banner for Saint Francis of Assisi, finished with embroidery and cabochons, Gothic Revival. Banner with embroidery, brocade, and cabochons. Central image of Saint Francis of Assisi in a Gothic niche, with a company at his feet including Pope Leo XIII holding the Auspicato Concessum (encyclical dedicated to the life of Francis of Assisi, 1882). Top right, a coat of arms with the Tree of Life, Fleurs-de-Lis, and Star of Bethlehem. Top left, an image of the Archangel Michael. Central bottom, the coat of arms of the Franciscans, with Crucifix and the crossed arms of Christ and Francis of Assisi, with Instruments of the Passion (ladder, spear, sponge, crown of thorns) in the background. On the left and right, a banner band with images of Saints, featuring Saint Louis IX of France (St. Ludovicus), Saint Elzearius of Sabran (St. Elzearius), Saint Elizabeth of Hungary (St. Elizabeth), and Saint Delphina of Sabran (St. Delphina).
