A chalice on a six-lobed base, richly decorated with figures of saints. Gothic Revival, vermeil silver. 1907. 1.022 kg. The cuppa is finished with an inscription: ‘hic est enim calix sanguinis mei’. The nodus is decorated with medallions of saints and figures: - Christ the Good Shepherd, depicted with a lamb. - Madonna and Child - Saint Clare of Assisi - An Archangel - Saint Lucy, holding a dish of eyes. - A saint holding a book. The following figures are depicted on the base: - Christ - A figure of a Pope - Saint Lawrence - A saint holding a book (Evangelist?) - Saint Hubert - Saint Joseph Marked at the base with the inscription ‘Me Fecit Jovanni J. Van Aarschodt’ and dated 1907. Accompanied by a silver paten, unmarked. Silver tested, unmarked. Total gross weight, including paten: 1.022 kg. (17.5 x 25.5 x 0 cm)
