Orfèvrerie Favier, Lyon, a vermeil chalice with paten, enamel medallions, and faceted glass, Gothic Revival. Silver. Gilded silver and enamel. An exceptional chalice with paten. Chalice with a sexfoil (six-lobed) base. Bowl and base decorated with 12 enamel medallions featuring floral motifs, Golgotha, Saint Louis of France, Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, Saint Joseph, the Virgin Mary, and Jesus Christ. Node finished with faceted glass. Paten decorated with an enamel IHS Christogram. Silver hallmarks on the bowl, stem, base, and paten. Grade marked with the French Minerve, 950/1000, period 1838–1973, France. Maker's marks for Orfèvrerie Favier, Lyon (on the paten) and Demarquet Frères, Paris (on the bowl). Total gross weight (chalice and paten): 680 g. Gothic Revival. (15.5 x 25.5 x 0 cm)
