Description
Gendarme shako of the Republican Guard infantry regiment, model 1928-1933. Cardboard carcass covered in fine dark midnight blue cloth, black patent leather cap and bourdalou, tin-stamped roundel. Gilt brass chain chinstrap. At the top of the cap, gold braid with red line in the middle. Both sides decorated with V-shaped chevrons in gold braid.
Stamped brass headpiece with the coat of arms of the city of Paris (galley 1 mat, motto "Fluctuat nec Mergitur"). 2 medals appear on the lower part: Legion of Honour and Croix de Guerre). Black patent leather visor with brass trim. Inner cap with wolf's teeth. With black patent leather chin strap. It comes with its red and olive rooster plume gilded brass at the base.
The 1933 regulation set is attached, including the 2 shoulder shamrocks and the red fourragère/needle corresponding to the decoration on the Republican Guard jacket.
