Description
Revolutionary pike shaft with a central edge assembled on a fragment of its original faceted wooden shaft by a wrought iron assembly nail. Total length 55 cm, including 15.5 cm socket and 14.5 cm wooden shaft. Markings: A very visible and N (to be cleaned under the rust) specific to the national workshops (requisitioned for emergency production in 1792). Interesting remnant, preserved in a dry place, with orange peel oxidation on the grainy surface. The iron shows twisting effects on the plate. In used condition for an original 18th century object.
