Description
British Empire 19th century flintlock rifle for the Indian Army. All steel fittings, fitted with a perfectly functioning flat hammer (with some play in the screw fixing it to the lock). The receiver is in steel. Total length of the rifle 1,4 m including 98 cm of barrel. Muzzle diameter 25mm. Steel nail rod. Presence of a bayonet lug with socket on the top of the barrel. Birmingham Arsenal double hallmarks on barrel thunder and superimposed (illegible) arc markings on lock. Exotic wood with a straight stock with no cheek rest, fitted with a rustic butt plate. Overall surface oxidation. Some wear and tear typical of these trading arms, which saw long service on the fringes of the British Empire.
