Description
French infantry officer's sabre, atypical model of the 1882 regulations, with straight blade. Both the guard and the cap are in bronze in the spirit of the "Nancy" model. This is a fantasy of the maker, as found in the old "Petitfils et Bailhache" catalogues at the end of the 19th century or close to the "BALP" productions. The horn grip has lost its watermark and the hilt has a main branch, three side branches and a single branch counter-guard with a few discreet knocks from handling. Private purchase for an officer wishing to distinguish himself. The blade is straight with a flat back: length 91 cm, width 2.5cm for a sabre with a total length of 1.09 m. The 1 ring scabbard ends in a symmetrical sting. There are no dents or bumps. Slight surface oxidation. Assisted by Mr Etienne Gaillard (06 63 13 63 66 - [email protected])
