En Anvers, chez Jean Vvasberghe, 1563 - First edition of the French translation of this very unusual work divided into three parts, the first and last with their individual title pages.
The first part contains the epistles of Jean Ravis Tissier, a native of Nivernois, the second part the most elegant flowers, sentences and manners of writing, selected from the familiar epistles of M.T. Cicero and the last part the manner of writing of Jean Ravis Tissier. Very fine 19th century binding in full blue calf, smooth spine decorated with fillets, likewise framing the boards and decorating the edges, elements of a coat of arms at the tail, gilt roulette at the tail and head, marbled edges. Very good condition, interior also very fresh, rare marginal traces of wetness.
Fine engraved vignettes in medallions on the title pages, lettering.
