[BOOK FROM THE 16th CENTURY] THE ARIOSTE [Lodovico ARIOSTO] By Gabriel Giolito de Ferrari, Vinegia, 1568 - A very handsome 16th century Venetian edition of this great Italian classic, so much admired by Casanova. Two parts bound in one volume, the first containing the rhymes and the second the satire, each part with its own dedicated title page. Elegant 18th century binding, full marbled calf, richly decorated smooth spine and red morocco title-piece, gilt edges, triple gilt fillets decorating the boards, a very good copy, well bound and preserved, complete with the engraved portrait of the author on the verso of the first title-page, margins a little trimmed but not serious.
