Meticulously typographed work including an important dictionary of architects with 684 names. 5 hors-texte plates, 35 full-page plates in the text and 59 figures in the text make up the remarkable and successful illustrations representing the elevation, plan, section and details of the monuments described, including the bishopric of Toul, the Place Royale in Metz, the Schloss Philippsfreud in Wittlich, the Abbey of Saint-Mathias in Trier and the Porta Nigra in Trier, among others.
