Paris, Administration de librairie, Pourrat 1844 - Very good work in-8 richly illustrated with 70 plates out of text including 30 in gummed colour. A good copy, complete with the 8 volumes bound in 4 volumes, in uniform period bindings, half-chagrin with ornate spines, good general condition (slight discolouration but not serious), fairly fresh interior, a few brown spots. Some sections loose but not missing, complete.
The first 2 volumes concern the American continent, volumes 3 to 5 the South China seas and the Indian archipelagos and the last 3 volumes are devoted to shipwrecks.
