[CARTOGRAPHY] [VOYAGES] Louis DENIS - Le Conducteur français, contenant les Routes desservies par les nouvelles Diligences Messageries & autres Voitures publiques From Ribou, Paris, 1776 - An interesting copy grouping together 4 fascicles of this ambitious project to publish itinerary maps for each of the main roads in the kingdom, including maps of great quality, which was never completed, only 56 maps being published. An exceptionally fine copy in a period binding, full calf with Marie-Antoinette's coat of arms, well decorated smooth spine and red morocco title and giblets (scratched), partially split spine ends and small leather tears. Fresh interior, the copy includes a total of one engraved frontispiece titled "introduction aux cartes qui se trouvent dans le conducteur françois" and 5 superb folding engraved maps, 2 of which are enhanced in period colours, most of the roads are relative to Rouen, Dieppe, Beauvais and Paris.
