HENRI IV (1553-1610). Signed letter, addressed to the conseillers, avocats and procureurs généraux de la Cour de Parlement de Tours, countersigned by the Secrétaire d'État Martin Ruzé. Camp de Darnetal [before Rouen], 11 December 1591. 1 p. small folio. Address on verso. BEAUTIFUL LETTER ON JUSTICE. Beautiful letter written during the siege of Rouen. "If the good people do not receive some honour and reward for their merits and the bad people the punishment they have served, it is not to be hoped that affairs will succeed happily and that those who are given over to evil living without reprehension of punishment will not allow themselves to indulge in all sorts of mischief".
