Description
COLBERT, Jean-Baptiste (1619-1683), principal minister of Louis XIV, known as "le Grand Colbert". Signed document. 20 March 1678. 3 pp. large in-4 on parchment. A repeated lack to the two leaves without gravity. Interesting decree relating to the pension issued by the King to Guillaume de Brisacier, secretary of the commands of Queen Marie-Thérèse of Austria. Brisacier had a rich art collection. His drawing room contained pencils by Clouet, including a portrait of François I now in the Louvre. He himself was portrayed by Mignard. Fine and large signature of Colbert. Attached are two certificates of service signed by his son, Jean-Baptiste Colbert de Seignelay. Red wax stamps with his arms. Numerous other signatures (Chènevière, Chastillon, Dupleix, etc). 2 pp. in-4 oblong. Expertise: Mathilde Lalin-Leprevost
