Description
LA PRIMAVERA. Dressing table or vanity unit in natural wood and veneer with a white marble top surmounted by a swivelling circular mirror; the top features a sheet-metal basin and two side drawers; the turned legs are in a double baluster design and connected by a crossbar. Founded in 1912 by René Guilleré for the Le Printemps department store, the Primavera workshop aimed to make decorative art accessible to all by offering contemporary-inspired furniture and objects – often characterised by the Art Deco style – mass-produced by renowned craftsmen and manufacturers. Its innovative concept, which proved highly successful and was emulated by other department stores, made Primavera a major player in interior design until production ceased in 1972.
