Born in Lille, Jean Théodore Delabassée trained with Jean-Antoine Injalbert and Henri Bouchard. Between 1920 and 1930, he regularly took part in the Sa- lon des Artistes Français, where he won a bronze medal in 1928. His Art Deco bronzes were produced by the Parisian founders Etling and Lehmann.
