With bag, "Photosphère" 9 x 12 camera, Compagnie française de Photographie, viewfinder, magazine and frame. Circa 1889. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Format 9 x 12 cm. Jarret à Paris F/8 120 mm lens. Round diaphragm. Shop: Hanau - Richard patent. The camera was designed by Napoléon Conti and manufactured by La Compagnie Française de Photographie, 7 rue de Solférino in Paris (...) The photosphere is made entirely of silver-plated and oxidised metal. The darkroom is shaped like a sphere, and contains a shutter that fits the same spherical shape (...) According to Jean Alain Chemilie's research, a total of just under 4,000 cameras in all formats were made (...).
