With its box, spy type camera, Carl Paul Stirn "Plastron" camera, 1st model, circa 1886. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Plastron made by Carl Paul Stirn. First model. Six 4 cm diameter views on a 14 cm round plate (...) The first camera of this type was the Gray breastplate, manufactured in the United States around 1885-1886. In 1886, the Stirn brothers (Carl Paul and Rudolph) bought the patents for distribution in Europe and manufacture in Germany. The Stirn camera is identical to the Gray model in its initial version (....). It is a spy camera par excellence because it is concealed under the jacket and the lens passes through a buttonhole.
