GAUL - CELTIC Andecaves. Quarter stater featuring an androcephalic figure, ND (late 2nd century and first half of the 1st century BC). cf. DT.2193–2195; Gold – 1.83 g – 13 mm – 7 h Presumably unpublished; another specimen is known to be in a private collection. Attribution to the Andecaves is provisional, as the reverse resembles issues attributed to them, whilst the obverse motif is unknown (a dog or a wild boar with a net?). The style of the obverse, however, is quite different, with its triangular eye and clearly defined laurel wreath. Superb.
