Description
GAUL - CELTIC Sequani. Potin TOC with lion on the obverse (first half of the 1st century BC and the Gallic Wars). LT.5629 - DT.3255 - RIG.281; Potin - 3.11 g - 16.5 mm - 12 h The reverse is perfectly centred, complete and in high relief, whilst the obverse is somewhat faint. Superb. This lion potin constitutes Class II of the epigraphic potins attributable to the Sequani, bearing the legend TOG. Class I (LT. 5611) is a variant of the ‘large head’ type. In both cases, the legend TOC or TOG appears to be linked to the abundant silver coinage bearing the name TOGIRIX
