GAUL - CELTIC Dacia. Tetradrachm featuring a rearing horse (Sattelkopfpferd type), ND (1st century BC). LT.9883 - Dembski 1226 - Flesche 725; Silver - 7.36 g - 21.5 mm - 6 h MP specimen no. 265 in the book “Surréelles Monnaies Gauloises”, by Samuel Gouet and Marc Petit – acquired from CGB in 1997, MONNAIES II, no. 617 – Burgan 1994. Coin with the entire obverse surface occupied by the head, but the reverse is slightly off-centre, showing the impression of the die edge. Dark, somewhat uneven patina. Very Good to Superb. The tetradrachms in this series are often poorly struck, and complete, centred specimens are not common! This specimen comes from the same dies as no. 725 in the Flesche collection.
