Saxony, Frederick Augustus I, known as ‘the Strong’ (1694–1733). Medal weighing 3 ducats, depicting the Fourth Commandment, by Heinrich Peter Grosskurt ND, Dresden.
Forrer II, p. 317 – Goppel Collection 1150 v.; Gold – 10.29 g – 26.5 mm – 12 h
Signed HPG on the central shaft. On the obverse, a quotation from Proverbs 10. On the reverse, the Fourth Commandment. Formerly set as a piece of jewellery; the rim is pinched in four places and slightly twisted. Also attributed to Hamburg. Very good condition.
