FRANCE - FRANCE MEDALS - France, Louis XVIII (1814–1824). Medal: General Lafayette, defender of American and French liberty, by Caunois, 1824, Paris. Collignon 411 – Olivier 35; Copper – 46.93 g – 46.5 mm – 12 h Superb. Commemorating Lafayette’s triumphal tour of America in 1824–1825. Medal engraved by Caunois, who signed it ‘French’. A gold version was presented to General Lafayette.
