FRANCE - FRANCE MEDALS - France, Louis-Philippe I (1830–1848). Medal, A. Rouget de Lisle, author of *La Marseillaise*, by E. Rogat after P. J. David d’Angers, 1833, Paris. Forrer V p. 191; Copper – 75.32 g – 50 mm – 12 h A medal of great precision, but a poorly struck specimen (pitted, rough edge). Very Good to Superb. Emile Rogat learnt engraving under Pierre-Jean David d’Angers. In 1833, the master produced a medallion bearing the effigy of Rouget de Lisle, whilst, under his supervision, the pupil engraved this medal.
