FRANCE - FRANCE MEDALS - France, Third Republic (1870–1940). Medal, Automobile Club de France, by J.-B. Daniel-Dupuis, undated (1896 model), Paris. Maier see 117 – Maz.1898, 57; Bronze – 158.63 g – 68 mm – 12 h Inscription in relief within the reverse cartouche: MEROT [certainly René Gillet Mérot, who finished second in the Paris–Rouen–Paris race in January 1914, in the 750 cm³ sidecar category, and was awarded a bronze plaque (La France Automobile, 15 January 1914, pp. 600–601)]. BRONZE hallmark on the edge. In a green imitation-leather case with gold edging. Superb.
