Bronze - 99.41 g - 60 mm - 12 h By Aleth Guzman (1904–1978), born in Dijon, winner of the First Grand Prix de Rome in 1929. BRONZE hallmark (triangle) on the edge. Superb. Félix Kir, commonly known as Canon Kir, was the iconic mayor of Dijon from 1945 to 1968 and a Member of Parliament for the Côte-d’Or with a strong-willed character. A courageous member of the Resistance during the Second World War, he remains famous for his quick wit and his modern vision of urban planning, marked by the creation of the artificial lake that now bears his name. A colourful figure in French political life, he also immortalised his surname by popularising the famous ‘kir’ aperitif, a traditional blend of Dijon crème de cassis and Aligoté white wine.
