POLAND Stanisław August (1764–1795). Medal, Sigismund II Augustus, by J.J. Reichel, undated (1790s). Hutten-Czapski 3430 – Raczyński 608; White metal – 36.05 g – 44.5 mm – 12 h Superb. In the 1790s, King Stanisław II August Poniatowski commissioned a series of 23 medals depicting the portraits of the kings of Poland from Bolesław I onwards; the first two were engraved by J.P. Holzhaeusser, and the subsequent ones by J.J. Reichel
