FRANCE - FRANCE Third Republic (1870-1940). Essai au type du ducat d'or de Louis XII, in ND silver, modern mint, Paris. Maz.2226a - MdP.A5; Silver - 6.04 g - 24 mm - 12 h Silver hallmark on the edge. A few small dents on the edge and on the scroll. Superb. Modern strikes of this type were available in the general catalogue of the Monnaie de Paris until the 1990s, but the coins were already present in the 1833 catalogue of the Musée monétaire.
