Description
FRANCE - FRANCE
Fifth Republic (1958 to the present day). Token, different from Pierre Rodier ND (1994), Pessac.
Cupro-nickel - 21.35 g - 34 mm - 12 h
Superb.
In March 1994, Pierre Rodier, who had just taken up the post of Engraver General, chose his different, the bee. To promote it, he decided to engrave a token. The people in charge of the Mint at the time refused to allow the token to be marketed, and only a small number of them were produced and distributed to his friends. The diameter was deliberately chosen to match that of the Turin 20 franc, as a tribute to the engraver. [source : cgb.fr]
