In this rare poster, we can see ‘the reverie’ that certain books inspire. In this work, we recognise the naturalist influence of Grasset, but also that of Byzantine heads, as reimagined by Mucha.
Born in Toulouse, she was a pupil not only of Mucha, but also of Firmin Bouisset and Jean Paul Laurens. This image, also known as ‘the woman with the daisy’, in contrast to her famous master, sees Atché bridging the gap between Art Nouveau and the Pre-Raphaelites.
It remains a remarkable poster for this bookshop located in the Rhône department.
