Studies of drapery for a chasuble and hangings.
Red chalk with white chalk highlights on buff paper, with irregular edges.
Height: 30 cm
Width: 22.2 cm
A beautiful and previously unpublished study of drapery which has retained its original dimensions and, based on the drawings catalogued by S. Valenti Rondani Rondino, must date from around 1680. The main study depicts the drape on the left side of a celebrant’s chasuble.
