Description
A tomb-shaped chest of drawers with a flowing silhouette, made of curly-grained violet wood veneer set within frames of light-coloured wood mouldings. The front features four drawers arranged in three rows and is characterised by strongly curved side panels. Richly decorated with chiselled and gilded bronze, including spandrel panels with stylised acanthus motifs, rocaille foliage cartouches, acanthus leaf feet, twisted handles with foliage finials and lock plates. Top in veined red marble, moulded in a corbin’s beak shape. Regency – Louis XV period. Height: 85 cm Width: 130 cm Depth: 66 cm Damage, losses and gaps in the veneer.
