Description
Jean-Charles ELLAUME (1714–1763), admitted as a master craftsman in Paris on 6 November 1754. Small, curving tomb-shaped chest of drawers in veneered wood with scrollwork decoration within frames, featuring four drawers in three rows on the front and resting on curved legs. Fine gilded bronze ornamentation on the lock plates, handles, side panels, feet and lamp bases. Top in red Languedoc marble, moulded in a corbin’s beak profile. Stamped on one side panel. Louis XV period. H: 89 cm L: 91 cm D: 47.5 cm Slight lifting of the veneer.
