ITALY, Venice – 18th century Large decorative panel or pediment, suitable for use as a scalloped-edge headboard, crafted from moulded wood and painted in polychrome on a sea-green background, gilded with titmice, flowering foliage, stylised acanthus leaves and shells. It features in its centre a multi-lobed medallion probably depicting Venus and Adonis. Height: 124 cm Width: 153 cm Restored, with minor losses and repainting.
